TideMind is a personal knowledge management tool. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your data. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. What Data We Collect

  • Account information: email address and password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text).
  • Knowledge graph: the memories, notes, and connections you create within TideMind.
  • LLM API keys: if you provide your own API keys, they are stored encrypted at rest. We never send your keys to any third party.
  • Usage statistics: anonymous, aggregated metrics such as node count and feature usage frequency. No content is included.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide and improve the TideMind service.
  • To sync your knowledge graph across devices (Cloud plan).
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties.
  • We do not use your content to train AI models.

3. Data Storage and Security

  • Cloud data is stored on Neon PostgreSQL (US East region).
  • All data is encrypted at rest and in transit (TLS 1.2+).
  • Data is not end-to-end encrypted. We may access it to provide support or comply with legal obligations.
  • The open-source, local-first version stores everything in a SQLite file on your device with no cloud involvement.

4. Your Rights

  • Access: you can view and export all your data at any time (JSON or Markdown).
  • Deletion: you can delete your account and all associated data. Deletion takes effect after a 30-day grace period in case you change your mind.
  • Export: full data export is available in JSON and Markdown formats.

5. Cookies

We use session cookies only to keep you signed in. We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or any third-party cookies.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of TideMind after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
